“Justin Bieber's downward spiral: What to tell the kids?”
Wallace, Kelly. Justin Bieber's downward spiral: What to tell the kids?. CNN. 24 Jan. 2014. Web. 6 Feb. 2014.
Justin Bieber was sent to jail for drunk driving and drag racing. Rachel Vail believes that parents should do more listening than talking, and ask kids what they think out Biebers troubles. Tish Howard suggested that parents ask their kids to define “greatness”. Dean Schmidt believes that people “shouldn't judge him” and also that parents should remind their kids that “"It is important to remind our kids that our mistakes do not define us”.
This story reminds me of the conversation that I had with my father. I asked him if someone gets arrested does that make them a bad person he told me that people can improve so don’t judge them for what they have done in the past.
I feel that it is wrong how people can talk about somebody without thinking that they are hurting their feelings. I feel this way because some people act like they have never been a young and dumb teenager before. I am pretty sure that everyone has been at some point in time in their life. I also don’t think that it is right for parents to tell their kids to stop liking someone just because of their downfall. This event affects the way that I look at people.
The purpose of using quotes is to tell what someone actually said word for word. The thing that you don’t get from quotes is someones face expression when they are saying whatever they are saying. Another thing that they do is let you know how someone feels about a subject.
Evidence:
"Justin's mistakes are a big deal, but they are not life altering," Atkins Wardy said.
"The lesson is happiness is an inside job and that true validation has to come from looking in the mirror and liking who you see regardless of ... chaos going on around you," Katz said.
