“Kansas teen uses 3-D printer to make hand for boy”

Williams, Mara’ Rosa. Kansas teen uses 3-D printer to make hand for boy. The Wichita Eagle. 31 Jan. 2014. Web. 24 Feb. 2014. <http://www.kansas.com/2014/01/31/3261314/kansas-teen-uses-3-d-printer-to.html>

Two months ago a six-teen year old junior at Louisburg High School named Mason Wilde changed a nine year old third graders life; Matthew. Matthew was borned with limb difference meaning that he was born with only a thumb and few partial parts on his right hand. Mason was at th e Johnson County Library and made Matthew a hand using a 3D printer. This has changed Matthew’s life. Matthews adopted mother’s father had the same condition except it was on his left hand.

This related to what we were talking about in business. A sixteen year old male made an app to get people informed with the news in the world without having to read two or three pages; this kid changed lots of people’s lives. This reminds me of Mason because he changed Matthews life.

I feel that it is wonderful that Mason made a hand for Matthew with a 3D printer. I feel this way because if I put myself in Matthew’s shoes then I would want someone to do the same thing for me. This event affects me by knowing that their is something for kids that has limb difference.

The impact of using quotations is to get the persons words exactly how they said it. By doing this the author of the story can not make what a person said mean something different. That is the use of quotations.
Evidence: “I remember my dad telling me once that his mother had always wanted him to have fingers,” Jennifer said. Also “Every day, kids were asking him, ‘What happened to your hand, what happened to your hand,’ and I noticed it was wrecking his spirit,” Jennifer said.
Mason Wilde, 16, has been building things since he was little. He put his skills to good use by using the Johnson County Library’s 3-D printer to craft a prosthetic hand for 9-year-old Matthew, who was born with only a thumb on his right hand.

“Justin Bieber's downward spiral: What to tell the kids?”
Wallace, Kelly. Justin Bieber's downward spiral: What to tell the kids?. CNN. 24 Jan. 2014. Web. 6 Feb. 2014.
Justin Bieber was sent to jail for drunk driving and drag racing. Rachel Vail believes that parents should do more listening than talking, and ask kids what they think out Biebers troubles. Tish Howard suggested that parents ask their kids to define “greatness”. Dean Schmidt believes that people “shouldn't judge him” and also that parents should remind their kids that “"It is important to remind our kids that our mistakes do not define us”.

This story reminds me of the conversation that I had with my father. I asked him if someone gets arrested does that make them a bad person he told me that people can improve so don’t judge them for what they have done in the past.

I feel that it is wrong how people can talk about somebody without thinking that they are hurting their feelings. I feel this way because some people act like they have never been a young and dumb teenager before. I am pretty sure that everyone has been at some point in time in their life. I also don’t think that it is right for parents to tell their kids to stop liking someone just because of their downfall. This event affects the way that I look at people.

The purpose of using quotes is to tell what someone actually said word for word. The thing that you don’t get from quotes is someones face expression when they are saying whatever they are saying. Another thing that they do is let you know how someone feels about a subject.
Evidence:
"Justin's mistakes are a big deal, but they are not life altering," Atkins Wardy said.
"The lesson is happiness is an inside job and that true validation has to come from looking in the mirror and liking who you see regardless of ... chaos going on around you," Katz said.
